In some cases in early game you could consider scooping up some contaminated oil or similar from enemies for selling purposes only, but for actual self use you will almost always need clean liquids and those are the only ones that game auto-stacks with the "collect" option.Īs to how you ended up with 20 drams split across multiple water skins in the first place: I am assuming you scooped up multiple small pools of that mixed liquids, which as said don't auto stack.

If you would have some pure water in the ground and some half full container with water, the collect option works normal.Īs said above: you usually don't want to collect mixed liquids, as for most of them you would have to somehow purify them to be able to actually use them. Why does it say 'no space' when I have plenty of room in those skins?Mixed liquids usually don't auto stack into containers if you are using the "collect" option, which is why you get the message that you have no space to collect it. Went into my inventory and had about 20 drams of bloody salt split between what had been four empty 32-dram skins. Saw that bloody salt can be used as a seasoning, so I collected some, then was told I was out of space. You very rarely want to collect mixed liquids. "Bloody" in this context means that a majority of the liquid mixture is made up of salt with some blood added in the mix. Don't hesitate to merge the contents of two starting, half-full waterskins into a single one if you're short on waterskins.Ībout bloody salt, it's the salt you want to use in your cooking. If you have any, select the pool of liquid you want to collect and choose to pour it into a container, then select an empty waterskin. My guess is that when offering you a choice of containers, the game showed you waterskins that were half-full with fresh water, which you definitely don't want to mix with something as mundane as bloody salt, because you'll end up with a useless mix of brackish water and blood which you can neither drink nor trade with, nor even cook with.Ĭheck your inventory for empty waterskins. It is not uncommon for many castes/callings to start with half-full waterskins. Not to sound like a douche, but you're probably doing something wrong.Ī waterskin can contain 64 drams of any liquid (some liquids, like lava or acid, will however melt the waterskin). TL DR : get in the habit of using the "pour" option when dealing with liquids and you will become Qud-erudite in no time.

Am I doing something wrong? Are these bugs? Will the same thing happen to water?

After three attempts to pour/fill, I have one dram left.

Then, when I try to pour/fill those skins' contents into a single skin, each pour/fill destroys most of the contents of each skin involved. Why does it say 'no space' when I have plenty of room in those skins? And am I doing something wrong that the bloody salt's not going into one skin to begin with?
